" I personally can vouch for it being a lot of hard work and extremely rewarding work! That and the design concepts take a while to come out of the cauldron!"Then there's always need for dragons, graces, chorus, band, set-up, clean-up, and people who are dedicated to helping create the sacred space waaaay before the doors open that evening.

"Earth is the element of nurturing, grounding, of the practicalities that assure our sustenance. Dragons keep the group grounded, in touch with the practical, the realistic. Dragons also live on the boundaries of the wild, guarding hordes of treasure with their claws and fiery breath. The Dragon in the group guards its resources and its boundaries and articulates its limitations. ...
Dragons establish boundaries that give the group a sense of safety, and limits that keep the group's service sustainable. They may be perceived as throwing a wet blanket on the fires of fresh enthusiasm, but they may win great appreciate from those in the group who are feeling overwhelmed and can't buck the driving force of the Crows and Graces."

"Fire is the element of energy. Graces are continually aware of the group's energy, helping to raise it when it flags, and to direct and channel it when it is strong. Graces provide the group with fire: enthusiasm, raw energy, ability to expand. They make people feel good, generate enthusiasm about the group, welcome newcomers, bring people in. They furnish inspiration and generate new ideas. ...
The role has been described as "what ladies do at parties": welcoming people, starting conversations, making introductions, being charming. But no one should be expected to be charming all of the time, and everyone can benefit by taking on the role some of the time."
